I am sooooooo sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. I met him in the spring of 1979, after I moved to Burlington the previous fall. I was looking for a softball team and somehow met Jim and had the pleasure and honor of meeting Ray, and the rest of his lovely family: Rita, Donna, Don, Rick and his uncles; Ron,Randy etc. They all made me feel like part of their family. Ray was the best sponsor of all of the 150 plus teams, I ever played on. He was at all of our games and only had words of encouragement. The only time he said anything but total positive feedback was when we were playing in a tournament and most of us were using a new bat that someone brought that night and we probably went 4 for 30, with that bat. Needless to say, we got our butts kicked. After giving us numerous compliments, he mentioned that he couldn’t help but notice that most of us were using the new bat and we didn’t hit the ball as well as we normally did. We all took Ray’s subtle ( come on boys, you are smarter than that ) words of wisdom and came back, with our old bats for the next games and ended up eventually winning the tournament.
He always had a smile on his face and knew how to work hard throughout his life, bestowing it to his children and anybody that wanted a good life for themselves and realized if they worked half as hard as he did, they were going to accomplish that.
I am so happy that I had the chance to know and experience what Ray and his family have to offer the people they come in contact with. Even though I haven’t seen or heard from Raymond, I will TRULY remember him for the INCREDIBLE, LOVING, THOUGHTFUL, SELFLESS etc. etc. etc human being that he was.
God bless him, his family and everybody’s life, he touched, as he was on this world.

We want to send our most sincere condolences to all of Ray's family. Ray was a big part of almost every house I built over the years and i always felt he was a good friend i could count on. I miss the breakfasts at Pearl's. I remember standing in Ray's kitchen sampling maple syrup by the glassful. He was a great guy and I'm pretty sure I'll see him again.

Dear Rita and family,
What sad news to hear of Skippys passing. My Dad would be so saddened to hear this but with his Pics disease he wouldn't realize. Skippy was my Dads favorite nephew and friend. He always had stories to tell. I'm so glad I got to spend some time with him when he was in the hospital before I left Vermont. He was one heck of a great man and I'm so grateful we were related. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May happy times and memories comfort you. Love and hugs June Desso Thibault
