Obituary of Gordon Joseph LaFountain

Milton – Gordon Joseph LaFountain Sr., 73, died peacefully on Tuesday December 8, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Gordie was born on March 5, 1947 at home in Milton, the son of Edward LaFountain Sr. and Gloria (Gordon) LaFountain. He graduated from Milton High School in 1964 and shortly after was drafted in the US Army during Vietnam. Gordie had worked for Agway for several years in St. Albans and Milton. He also worked as a carpenter for many years. Gordie though the world of his grandchildren, especially Emma, who was his own private nurse. He is survived by his daughter Joy LaFountain and his son Gordon LaFountain Jr. and his wife Jenna, all of Milton. He is also survived by his grandchildren Carson, Emma and Noah, his children’s mother who was still very close to Gordie, Joyce Shepard and her husband Todd of Milton, by his sisters and brothers Virginia Reid, Joyce Brown and her husband Michael, Donna Bidwell and husband Dick, Marie Hill and her husband Phil, Ronald and his wife Laura, Randall and his wife Lisa, Melanie Porwitzky and her husband Michael, Paulette Sweetser and her husband Stillman and his sister-in-law Linda LaFountain. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward LaFountain Jr., Paul LaFountain and Carl LaFountain, and his dog Rusty, whom he thought the world of.
