Obituary of Robert Justin Hoben

Milton – Robert J. Hoben, 83, died peacefully early Saturday morning August 3, 2019 at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.

Bob was born on July 12, 1936 in St. Albans, the son of Justin and Gertrude (Lawton) Hoben.  He attended pharmaceutical school shortly after high school then enlisted in the US Navy.

He married Mary Bruso on June 4, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Albans.

Bob began working at IBM in 1965.   He retired as an Associate Engineer in 1992. 

He loved deer hunting and fishing, camping and playing cards.

In addition to his loving wife Mary, he is survived by his children Mark Hoben and his wife Heather of St. Albans, Paula Pearce and her husband Guy of Lyndonville, and Susan Crawford and her husband Shaun of Jericho, by his grandchildren Katelin, Connor, Emily, Adam, Jacob and Grace.   He is also survived by his brother-in-law Fred Bruso Jr. and his wife Linda and his nieces Pat Reed and her husband Andrew,    Joan Wood and by several cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister Alieta Hamblin.

At Bob’s request there will be no visiting hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at 11am at St. Ann Catholic Church in Milton.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Albans.
