Obituary of Douglas George Young

St. Albans – Douglas G. Young, 74, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019 at the Berlin Health and Rehab. Center with his loving family by his side.

Doug was born on August 11, 1944 in Barre, the son of George and Queenie (Armstrong) Young.

Doug was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and truly enjoyed woodworking projects such as making bird houses. Doug could identify many of Vermont’s birds by their call.

Doug worked at IBM for 27 years, retiring as a computer programmer.

He is survived, by his wife Marilyn Young of  St. Albans, by his children Douglas F. Young of Georgia, Cathleen Trivieres and her husband Christian of Georgia, Stephen Young and his wife Christin of Westford, Michael Young and his wife Heather of Georgia and Caren Young – Toussaint and her husband Andrew of St. Alban,  his grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Isabelle, Madeline, Owen, Makayla, Hunter, MaKenna, Haylee, Kyle, Colby; his brother Robert Young and his partner Barbara Hope and several nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Queenie Young and his brother Gregory Young.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 10, 2019 from 5-7 pm in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 11, 2019 at 12:30 pm in the Minor Funeral Home.
