Jeffrey Otero

Obituary of Jeffrey L. Otero

Burlington, Jeffrey Luis "Odie" Otero, 52 of Bayview Street passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Jeff was born April 12, 1966 in Burlington the son of Jorge and Judy Beauchemin Otero.  He graduated from South Burlington High School with the Class of 1984 and went on to become a Licensed Electrician.

His strong work ethic was apparent having been a dedicated employee of Lakeside Electric for 18 years.  Jeff would say, what better job can you have where you work for one of your best friends and you love what you do. He considered the Lakeside crew his family and forged special bonds with each member of the company.

Jeff was an avid NASCAR fan, having traveled to many races. He really enjoyed his yearly trips with the boys.  Most recently he took up going to the Drag Races in Epping, NH where he loved the excitement.

A man passionate about his motorcycle, Jeff customized his VMAX and would go to shows where he won many trophies over the years. He loved going fast, either in a muscle car or on his motorcycles. It had to be fast and loud. In regards to music, the louder the better. He loved going to concerts from a young age, he was a quintessential Rock Star.  If he liked the band it didn’t matter how far away they were playing he would go.

Jeff loved family camping trips when the kids were younger, always trying to give them the experiences that he had as a young boy with his family. In regards to family, Jeff was fiercely loyal to his family as well as to his friends, he loved his son Jacob more than words can describe.

Jeff is survived by his partner, Lisa LaFountaine of Burlington; his son Jacob and his fiancé, Kate Roberts of Milton; grandchildren, Jasmine Rodriguez of Tennessee, and Carter Hall and Jaylee Otero of Burlington; his mother, Judy Otero of Riverview, FL; his stepchildren, Loren (Ashley) Senna and Zachary Senna of Burlington, Kyla Jacquish of Buffalo, NY, Kristine Rotunno and Kassidy Rotunno of South Burlington and RJ; his brother, Joseph (Susan) Otero of Valrico, FL,; his sisters, Jaqueline “Jacki” Otero of New Port Richey, FL and Janine (Jeff) Maxfield of New Port Richey, FL; his uncle, Rick Beauchemin of Milton and his two nephews, Christopher Otero of Portland, Oregon and Jared Suarez of New Port Richey, FL. He also leaves his close friends, Mark Leclair, Scott Perron, Scott Dragon, Ben Doran as well as many more including his Little Nala.  He was predeceased by his father, Jorge Otero, his Grandmother, Doris “Granny” Beauchemin and his girls, Liberty, Harmony and Justice.
