Obituary of James Allan Hickey
James A Hickey died peacefully April 3,2021 at his home in Milton surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer.
Born on Dec. 9th, 1960 in Burlington VT, he was the son of William & Jessie Hickey. Jim graduated from Rice Memorial High School and the University of Vermont. He married Sharon O’Brien in 1987.
He was a bakery manager at Price Chopper for many years. He had an amazing work ethic and was well respected by his coworkers.
Family was extremely important to Jim. He enjoyed spending time together, whether it be a family vacation, or a game of cards at home. He was very involved in his children’s lives, happily coaching many of their teams, and attending numerous games and events over the years. He was extremely proud of his children.
One of Jims favorite places to go was camp. Either hunting with his dad, Jackson, Bob, Dean & Chuck or a quiet getaway with the family, any day at camp as a great day for Jim.
An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed many trips to see the Bruins & Red sox with family and friends. Bringing someone to their first professional game always made him smile.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Jackson & partner Amanda Brown, Grace & fiancé Jacob Turner, his parents William & Jessie Hickey, In laws Kathleen O’Brien, Kary & Jeff Towne, Tom O’Brien, Sue O’Brien, Mike O’Brien, Maureen O’Brien, Dennis O’Brien, Rebecca & William Ramsey, Jeff Robb, and many nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Jill Robb, in laws Robert Van Kleeck, Kevin O’Brien, and Eileen O’Brien.
Per Jims wishes there will be no service at this time. We will have a celebration of life at a future date.
