Obituary of Joan G. Weeks

On March 8, 2021, Joan Gordon Weeks of North Hero passed away, at the University of Vermont Medical Center after her battle with multiple myeloma.  She was born on April 21, 1952 in West Bolton, to proud parents Loren and Clarice (Quebec) Gordon.  Joan was one of seven Gordon siblings, and dearly loved her sisters Darlene, Linda, and Sharon, and her brothers Chuck, Dan, and Rick.  

On May 15, 1976 in West Bolton, Joan married John Larry Weeks.  They bought a home and made a life in Colchester, giving birth to their boys Tyler and Joshua Weeks.  She is survived by her husband John, her boys Tyler and Josh, and by her grandchildren.  'Grammy' Weeks' grandchildren were a special inspiration for her, and she fought bravely and fiercely against her bone marrow cancer to remain in their lives as long as she could.  

Joan loved her family deeply, and lived with an uncommon kindness and warmth for all she met.  In her career of 44 years, Joan was a legal secretary in Burlington, Vermont at Dinse, Knapp, and McAndrew.  She sought to serve others well while providing for her family by working hard.  After retiring from her work in Burlington, she served on staff at Shore Acres in North Hero.  She lived healthily, humbly, and for her family in all ways.  Her spark and smile will be missed by many, and the world is better for her having been.
