Obituary of Amelia Laura Deforge

Milton, VT Amelia Laura Deforge, 96, of Milton, formerly of Winooski, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, November 19, 2016 at the home of her niece, Nancy Hayes in Milton where she had made her home for the past three years. Laura was born January 19, 1920 in West Rutland, the daughter of the late George J. and Amelia Payne Deforge. At the age of two her family moved to Colchester where she attended a one room elementary school. She graduated from Winooski High School, Class of 1937. Amelia had worked for Shelburne Industries for many years, retiring in 1985. She loved camping, bowling, gardening, playing cards, but most of all she loved her music. She is survived by her sister in law, Nancy A. Deforge and many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ann Bailey and her brother, George A. Deforge. There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11 am in St. Ann Parish, Main Street in Milton with Fr. John Feltz, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chittenden County Humane Society, 142 Kindness Court, South Burlington, VT 05403
