Obituary of Marie L. Bushey

Marie L. Bushey, 80 of Georgia, VT passed away surrounded by loved ones at UVMMC on February 11, 2021. Marie was predeceased by her husband Maynard Paul Bushey, her parents Maurice and Irene (Savoy) Trayah, her siblings Earl Trayah, Pauline Bushey, and a brother-in-law Elwin Sweeney and also by her daughter Susan Shatney and granddaughter Kristy Duprat. She is survived by: her children Cheryl Berkhoff and her husband William of Waltham, Bonnie Crumb and her husband Sean of Perkinsville, and David Bushey of Georgia, grandchildren Dawn Yandow of Colchester, Jessica Burnor and her partner Corey of Waltham, Miranda Bushey and her partner Evan of Waterville, Cayla Crumb and her partner Derrick of Winooski, and Jason Crumb and his partner Tryanna of Perkinsville, great grandchildren, Ryan Hansen, Nicholas Rogers, Joshua Hansen, Riley Decell, Matthew Yandow and Caidence Paquette, her siblings Maxine Sweeney of Milton, Sandra Shepard and her husband Bobby of Colchester, Wayne Trayah and his wife Lucy of Colchester, Andrea Lammly and her husband Chris of Milton and brother in law Donald Bushey, Jr. of Colchester and her best friends Peg Cyr and Patricia Jones, as well as several nieces and nephews and her favorite cat “Sassy”. Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marie was a past Department President and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was an active member volunteering her time to the DAV and VA hospital in White River Junction. Marie loved country music, talking (whether in person or on the phone), spending time and traveling with her family and friends. She loved bingo, dancing, cooking; which she was well known for her ambrosia salad, baked beans, and Spanish Rice; crossword puzzles, arts and crafts, craft shows, and loved watching Hallmark/Lifetime movies with her favorite cat. Marie had a heart of gold. She always helped anyone anyway she could and never expected anything in return. She will be forever loved and missed by all. Visitation will be held on Monday February 15, 2021 4-7 in the Minor Funeral Home, 237 Rt. 7 South, Milton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11am in Ascension Church, 3157 Ethan Allen Highway, Georgia VT. Burial will be in the spring in Holy Cross Cemetery In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to American Legion Auxiliary Children and Youth Program, the DAV or the VA Hospital in White River Junction.
