Obituary of Ernest William Pelkey

Grand Isle - Ernest William Pelkey, 98, died peacefully on January 5, 2021 at the North Western Medical Center in St. Albans. Ernest was born on June 23, 1922 in Alburg, the son of Arthur and Virginia (Duchaine) Pelkey. He had served in the US Army during WWII. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. Ernest was married to Barbara Pelkey on November 20, 1950 in Alburg. They were members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grand Isle. In addition to Barb, Ernest is survived by his daughter Coleen Pelkey of Isle LaMotte, his grandchildren Evelyn Wilson and Cristine Schilling and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Doak, and his siblings Mary Louise Dussault, Margaret Steven, Arthur Pelkey, Lawrence Pelkey, Oscar Pelkey, Claude Pelkey and Wallace Pelkey. Due to COVID, there will be no services at this time.
