Obituary of Ethel P. Bedard

Milton – Ethel P. Bedard, 90, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday October 23, 2016. Ethel was born on March 30, 1926 in Burlington, VT the daughter of Perley and Cornelia ( Scribner ) Gardner. She married Adelard “Pete” Bedard on December 15, 1942 in the United Methodist Church in Burlington. They were married for over 63 years when Pete died in 2006. Ethel enjoyed going to the Arrowhead Senior Center and the Groovy Lunch Bunch. She loved crossword puzzles, yard sales and baking. She also loved watching the birds at her feeder, working in her garden and watching the Hallmark channel. Ethel is survived by her children Linda Forgan & her husband Clayton Sr. of Milton, Penny Harvey and her husband Tony of Monkton and Jackie Shanahan of Fairfield, CT, also by her grandchildren Rebekah, Danielle, Katie, Emily, Cheri, Michelle, Clayton Jr., Nicole, Erin, Jonathan, Peter and Johnny. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law Patsy Bedard and Lile Bedard, both of Milton. Her sisters Patricia Desjardins and husband William of Milton, Elizabeth Cote of Milton, Pauline Carty of CT., her sister in law Nancy Gardner of MD and her brother Earl Gardner and his wife Sue of Milton and by several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her devoted dog Riley, who she loved dearly and was her constant companion. In addition to her husband Pete, Ethel was predeceased by her sons Ronald “Joe” Bedard in 2001 and Edward “Buzz” Bedard in 2008, her brothers Donald and Albert Gardner. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1pm in the United Church of Milton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Groovy Lunch Bunch, in care of Penny Harvey, 34 Coach Road, New Haven, VT 05472
