Obituary of Paul Sidney Leggett

Colchester – Paul S. Leggett, 76, died peacefully at his home, with his loving daughter by his side, on June 3, 2020. Paul was born in Burlington on November 18, 1943, the 4th of 10 children, the son of William and Rhoda (Stone) Leggett. He attended Burlington High School and went to work for General Electric, where he worked at the main plant and at the Ethan Allen Firing Range. He married Bonnie Norman at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Burlington on June 1, 1963. Paul was very active and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, playing pool and ping pong, family gatherings and parties. And he was the life of the party. His family meant the world to him. He is survived by his daughter Sherry Champney and her husband Steve of Milton, his grandchildren Megan Champney-Geoffroy and husband Matthew, Lance Champney and wife Katie, Brennon Champney and Destinee Champney and his great grandchildren David, Aubrey and Blake Geoffroy, and L.J. Champney. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Jacqueline Haight of Charlotte, Armand Leggett and wife Madeline of Williston, Pat Leggett of So. Burlington, Larry Leggett and wife Charlotte of Georgia and Darlene Charland and husband Michael of Underhill and by several nieces and nephews and his baby Missy. He was predeceased by his loving wife Bonnie November 19, 2017 and his brothers Ken, Billy, Arnold “Bozo”, and Donald Leggett. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 2-5 at the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Following the State of VT Guidelines, the funeral home must maintain 25 people or less, wear a mask and keep a safe distance while attending. Online condolences may be made to www.minorfh.com
