Obituary of Janice Elaine Fay
Huntington Ctr. – Janice Elaine Fay, 80 died peacefully on Wednesday May 27, 2020 at the UVMMC in Burlington.
Janice was born on May 22, 1940 in Jeffersonville, the daughter of Perley and Alberta (Sheltra) Tinker.
Janice married Sidney Albert Fay on September 29, 1954.
She had worked at Howard Johnson’s for many years as well as Champion and the Soap Factory.
She was most proud of being a homemaker.
She and Sidney enjoyed going to Florida and camping. She also love to shop.
Janice is survived by her children, Gary Fay and his wife Sindy of Huntington, Roberta Bersaw and her husband Jeffrey of Monkton, Alice Salter and her husband Randy of Huntington, Wallace Fay and his wife Pam of Bristol, Sidney Fay Jr. and his wife Ponleu of Georgia and Jeffrey Fay of CA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters Lillian (Hugh) Dudley of Fairfield, Charles Tinker and partner Dennis of Fletcher, Connie Boylan of Fairfield, Bonnie (Steve) Collins of Fairfield and Jimmy (Bonnie) Tinker of Swanton, her brother-in-law Russell Stone of Bakersfield and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Sidney Fay Sr.
on June 4, 2011. She was also predeceased by her sister Mary Stone, her brothers Edwin and Larry Tinker, and her brother-in-law Chuck Boylan.
Visiting hours will be held at Janice’s home in Huntington on Sunday June 7th from 1-5 pm. Janice's burial will be a joint burial with her husband Sidney on Sunday July 26, 2020 at 1pm in the Binghamville Cemetery in Fletcher. Janice’s family asks that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing when attending.
