Derek and Luke: We were sad to hear of your mom's passing. I remember how hard she worked and how proud she was of her two boys. I still see her walking in Milton on her way to work.. always a fabulous smile. May you be comforted by the lessons of life she gave you and know that she is shining on you each day. Wishing you peace during this difficult time, Mark & Colleen Leonard-Nichols.

Your mother was a genuine soul, so very kind and generous. She was so sweet and thoughtful of my two children. I am grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing her. May her beautiful soul rest in peace now in the arms of the lord. God bless you all and may he hold you and comfort you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Amber Hanley (Laurie's Daughter)

Our mother was everything to Luke & I. She never let us down in all the years raising us all on her own and in her years being a wonderful grandmother for our children. She was a hard worker, quick learner and knew most of all how to bring out the best with her beautiful smile and patient voice.
She was always the loudest and most supportive parent on the sideline or bleachers of our sporting events. She made me so proud and gave me strength when I needed her the most. Even in her last days, she guided me in being a better father and telling me “that’s how it is, It’s gonna be okay, you were okay and your boys will be too. This is not the end, but a new chapter in life”.
She was still independent at the end, brave and her life ended on her terms. It was a little early as her mind was so strong. She was so smart. Mom was the heart of our family and we know she will always be with us now.
We want to thank all of her wonderful friends, near and far, especially our cousin Heather for always being the friend and loved one she could talk to and lean on. Our uncles Steve & John for being the most wonderful brothers she could have. She felt very comfortable and safe living at The Courtyard in Winooski and we appreciate TJ and Brian for helping her there. Special thanks to Gretchen with SASH, all those at hospice care and the UVM Medical Center.
Mom spent one night at the McClure Miller Respite House. Her last days were peaceful and she was in such good care. The amazing caregivers and setting provided a beautiful end to Mom’s chapter here with us. She was home.
Mom missed her mother (GG Barb to her grandkids) more than anything in this world and we are at peace that they are now together. Two wonderful strong women watching over us. To mother earth the day before Earth Day. So appropriate!
We love you mom and you will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
Thank you for being everything you were!

Derek, Lucas, Steve, John & Families - so sorry for the loss of your Mom and Sister. Although I hadn't seen Jo in quite some time, I have many memories of sitting beside her at sporting events cheering on her boys. She was always so proud of your accomplishments. You boys were definitely the light in her eye so I can only imagine that light when her grandbabies came along.
She will now be that twinkling star above watching over you all. Prayers to you all.
