Obituary of Dennis A. Ryan

Fletcher – Dennis A. Ryan, 72, died unexpectedly on Saturday March 14, 2020 at his home. Dennis was born on November 13, 1947 in Fletcher, the son of Alfred and Arlene (Draper) Ryan. Dennis was employed in dairy farming; the family farm and then the Enosburg Howrigan farm. In the early 80’s Dennis and Tammy moved back to Fletcher and Dennis started working for Ormond Bushey & Sons, Inc. He worked there until 2009 when he retired. It was then Dennis started his most important, enjoyable and rewarding role of full time “daddy” to Lily. He loved her as much as she loved him (although he’d never admit it). He enjoyed deer hunting, riding his ATV, cutting wood and just about anything centered around the outdoors and woods. He also enjoyed sugaring with his brother and nephew. Breakfast food was his favorite; breakfast, lunch or dinner, Most Sundays you could find us at most any restaurant in Franklin County. He is survived by his wife Tammy Dee Ryan of Fletcher, his very special furry daughter (Baby girl) Miss Lily, his son Dean and his wife Angela of Swanton, his grandchildren Tiffany, Nicholas, Brittany and Brooke Ryan, his brothers Mike of Milton, Fred and his wife Betty of Fairfield and Richard and his wife Bonnie of Fletcher, his nephews Matthew Ryan & his fiancé Kelly Gillilan, Travis Ryan, Christopher Ryan, Miles Prescott and his wife Gimena Gordillo, his nieces Vickie Berry and her husband Keith and Jodi Bard and her husband Rick, several cousins, friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Paul, his brother Gerald and his sister-in-law Cindy, his nephew Billy Ryan and his mother-in-law Pauline Terwilliger. In lieu of flowers sent to the funeral home, flowers may be sent to one of the long care facilities, unable to receive families during this virus shutdown, to brighten their days. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 3:30-5:00 PM at the Minor Funeral Home in Milton, with a funeral service held by Fr. Feltz, following at 5:00 pm.
