So sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing. He was a kind and helpful neighbor. I can remember when I first moved to VT and my pickup slid off my driveway. Never having met Ernie, I knocked on his door and just like that he was on his tractor headed to pull this flatlander’s truck out of the ditch. He saved my hide big time that day. My sincerest condolences to Craig and the rest of the family. –Adam

To my dear cousins Craig, Debbie, Colleen and Eric, Uncle Ernie will be so greatly missed by so many people. I have such fond memories of our childhood visits to Milton and our family reunions. Your dad had such a great sense of humor and such a wondeful way of listening. I loved seeing him each July at the family reunions, wearing that crazy hat with the long braid. It just won't be the same without him. Much love, Terri and Roger

Ernie was the Station Commander at the old fort in Colchester and over time, many of us filtered in and out of said. It was a very rare feat for three brothers to all be Vermont Troopers at the same time and they made a unique impact on many of us.
Very tough time for the Strong family to have two brothers pass in such a short period of time. With sincere thoughts.
