Mike worked for years in the Colchester school system as both custodian and bus driver. He was so much more than either of those occupations. Mike was a friend to every kid that he ever encountered . He always had a kind word and a smile. He would always take the time the talk to a kid and had a unique way of knowing when a child was troubled. His good humor and sage advice often helped you get through the day. I am thankful that I took the time about a year ago to stop in and visit with him and his wife Rita . In many ways Mike had more of an impact on me that any of the many teachers that I encountered throughout the years. Mike you will be missed by thousands you were truly a blessing. My own father passed away 8 years ago and today I feel like I've lost my father again . Godspeed old friend.

To the Marshall Family. I am sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Growing up I remember Mike from riding his bus to him in school. Mike made the time to talk to the kids no matter what he was doing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you

Mr. Marshmallow as he was called in school. Mr. Marshall was my school’s janitor forever. I knew him from Union Memorial to Colchester High School and at church. He had the biggest smile and biggest heart. Always a kind hello and a hug if you wanted one. He truly was lovable!! He will be missed greatly and all who knew him knows he had a heart of gold! He was loved and will be missed. ❤️

Such a sweet and kind man. Always kept us sweetened up at TD Bank in Milton with his famous brownies & Dunkin Donuts every Monday morning. Mike will surely be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. RIP sweet friend.

Hi Mr. Mike. You were a ray of sunshine with that big smile of yours every time you walked into any one of the Colchester schools. You kept our schools in top shape and always had a minute to stop and chat with a teacher or student. When you drove one of our high school teams to an away game, you often brought along some oranges for the students on their ride home. You were thoughtful and kind to all. My sincere condolences to Rita and family.

I worked with Mike when he worked for the Colchester School District. What a guy! He worked so hard but always had a minute to stop and say hi. Seeing his picture brought back such great memories of a great man. The best to you, Rita.

I remember baseball games in the field across the street of the red house up on the hill that we all help build in Colchester, Vt. I think that we were the 1st ones to have a VW Bus in the area. We needed something to seat all of us...I met Mike Marshall when I was 9 yrs old when he & Rita were so kind as to take in my siblings & myself into their home & treated & loved us as their own. When we'd talk he'd say "You Don't say"...
We lost an honorable man... someone who's kind, generous, reliable, & loving. He did well down here so I guess he'll be wonderful up above. Much love to Rita, Steve, Julie, Nancy, Laurie, Mikey, Jeanette & to everyone who'll miss his physical presence. He'll live on in our hearts & memory. Vickie Benson Mroczko
