Seth and Ellen Goodhue were our neighbors across the street on Indian Brook Rd. from as early as I can remember in my childhood until I left for graduate school. Their faces and smiles and voices are so much a part of the fabric of my childhood that it is hard to imagine one or both of them not being "across the street," even now, so many years after my parents sold my childhood home and moved away. If there was an entry for "good neighbor" in the dictionary, there would be a picture of the Goodhues. Seth (or Mr. Goodhue, as he will always be for me) was simply one of the nicest and kindest people I have ever met in my life, with a smile to match. We were truly blessed to have had him as our neighbor and friend, and the world will be a little less bright without him in it.

Seth was a great man and good customer of mine at Capitol City Buick-GMC. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was always so vibrant and healthy, still cutting firewood in his 80's. I will miss seeing his smiling face here at the dealership. My prayers go out to Ellen and the entire family.

We all lost a true Vermonter with Seth’s passing. He was a tall, proud, yet humble man. He was my friend and my firewood man!! I loved chatting with him. He and Ellen were inseparable. It was an honor to have had him as a friend that set the example on how to handle adversity...prayers for Ellen and all family to find peace in good memories....Dave and Betti Zehnacker

ElIan I am so sorry for your loss Seth was a great person always thinking of others and I can just imagine the fun Seth and Larry will be having again. I remember Seths infectious laugh and all the great visits we had at Larry’s (D&M automotive) he is one of those special people you never forget. I always believed our loved one is always looking down on us thanking us for all the love we gave them and knowing Seth I know he thinks of you in this way. May he Rest In Peace I send you and your family my sincere sympathies.Barb Dryer

My favorite memory of my Grampy is riding in a limousine with him to his retirement party when I was four. I remember being so proud of him and seeing how many people loved him and cared for him.
