A good man with a sense of humor like no one else's - always joking and pulling pranks to make others laugh (no doubt he's still doing that now). A good, loyal and faithful Marine who inspired me to be the best Soldier I could be. A dedicated public servant and father to three beautiful daughters - his legacy lives on through them. That's how I'll always remember GAS.
Rest in peace, True Blue.

To the family of George Strong we wish to send our sympathies for your loss. Alice new two of your brothers, Ernest Jr. & Bernard when they stayed at the Grout/Cobleigh farm with Murray Cobleigh & Almer Grout when they were in grammar school. Murray Cobleigh was Alice's uncle. She also new his sister,
Sylvia as we tended the pony rides at Hartland Fair. His sister Charlotte was married to Bun Maxham who were neighbors of ours. Also used to see George at the Hartford High School Field Hockey games as his daughter and our daughter both played on the team. So sorry for your loss and George will be missed.

Thank you, George, for rescuing me in 1972 after a near-fatal on I-91 after my car hit black ice on my commute to work. You acted fast and got me the medical attention I needed; you saved my life. You will always have my gratitude and fondness. May you rest in sweet peace, and may your family know what a difference you made in the life of one more person.

I have so many great memories of growing up with Uncle George and Aunt Sue and you girls. I loved it when we came over to Wilder and I got to stay over night. We always seemed to get into some sort of mischief! Uncle George had a temper (I remember having to eat a maple leaf that I picked off the tree in the front yard!) but I also remember lots of laughter. He was a good man and was well loved. To all of you my heart goes out! George was like a second father to me and I have many fond memories of times in the Wilder house with all of the Strong family! He always knew what we were up to Lisa and we could never pull anything over on him!
