Just passing through in our motor home, staying at Apple Island RV resort I picked up an Islander paper at the gas station. I read the obituaries and this one stood out to me. I didn't know Kent but he sounded like a great caring person about things close to my heart also. My condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one. May his memories live on with his family and friends.

I will always be inspired by Kent. I will also be inspired by Linda, and by the extended family they raised together, who supported them and clearly loved them.
Such a larger-than-life person leaves a big empty spot for grief. I hope you can do as you so graciously advised the rest of us in Kent's honor:
"...enjoy life; plant a garden and harvest the fruits and veggies (forcing your kids to weed is optional); go for a hike or watch a thunderstorm roll across the field; go gold panning; or wake your kids and neighbors at 2 a.m. to revel in the beauty of the Northern lights. Whatever you choose to do, be happy and love those around you, as Kent did."

Linda, Jessica, and Cait,
It is with the deepest regret and condolences that I hear of Kent's passing. Please accept my extended hand at this most trying and difficult time of life. My sentiments can best be expressed by "Footprints in the Sand."
One night, a man dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. He noticed 2 sets of footprints. However, during the saddest times in his life, there was only 1 set of footprints. The man questioned the Lord about this. "I don't understand why when I needed You most, You would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious child, during your times of suffering, when you saw only 1 set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
My sincerest wish is that you are all able to draw as much comfort from this passage as I did...
With extreme fondness for the 3 of you - Roger

To Linda & Family,
I met Kent only once at a Tai Chi class and was so impressed with his desire to try his best. Having a sister with Parkinson’s, we understand what you all have gone through. We send our sympathy to you and we will plant a tree and get out in the garden to enjoy and appreciate Mother Earth in honor of Kent.

To my oldest and dearest friends..Jess, Caitie, Mrs. M (Linda)
Mr. Morris (Kent) shaped my love of nature, of exploring this beautiful state, of getting lost down a dirt road and finding the perfect spot for a picnic. We all logged a lot of hours and miles in the convertible.
My childhood was better for having know him, and sharing in some wonderful times with all of you, as part of your family. (gold panning, pogo sticking, sleeping in the camper, doing puzzles, Wednesday night dinners of pancakes or spaghetti, and learning about anything and everything of interest to him).
Those of us who were lucky enough to know Mr. Morris, to spend time with him and see his quirky, silly side will forever be blessed with memories that make our hearts smile. I know mine does.
Love to you all, and my most heartfelt and sincerest condolences on the loss of one of the best this world will ever know.
~Jen (but, he is one of the few who could still get away with calling me Jenny)
