I'm very sad to stumble upon this obituary by chance. I worked with David as the Town Planner of Milton when he was the zoning administrator in the early 1990s. David was a great guy and mentor and I've thought about him and his wife over the years.

David was a wonderful and caring friend. He was always happy to see you and to help wherever he could. We shared many good times and will always remember him fondly. His love for Barb and their family was an inspiration for all of us! He was a member of the Men's Action Group with Lewis and the other men of our church and with countless church dinners. David and Barb were a delight in their deep and loving relationship. Their love of adventure and travel seem to keep them young and keep them going through many difficult times. Their love for God was apparent in everything they did. We will miss you. But we know that you will always be close in our thoughts and hearts. God Bless.

Barb and family,
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting David on a few occasions. I feel so blessed for knowing him and only wish I had known him even better. But what I was able to tell in just a few visits, is that he was such a genuine, loving, caring man with an unforgettable smile. It was so amazing to see how much love he obviously had for you Barb. You both were so blessed to find each other in life. I am so sorry for his passing but am so grateful he is no longer suffering and is wrapped up in Jesus' arms. As you struggle with his passing, may God wash over you with a peace that surpasses all understanding and may you know how much you are loved. Barb, I can see him now with that big 'ole smile probably chatting it up with Mom and Dad. You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you Barb.

David, Rest In Peace my friend. You fought a great fight. No one could have asked for more. Because you always gave your all, no matter what you faced.
No one could ever ask for a more loving, thoughtful, caring and loyal friend. I can’t say enough good things about you. You were there for whom ever needed you. No matter what it was, you had a smile on your face.
You were the big brother I never had. You knew when I was stressed, when I didn’t even realize it. And your kind and wise words (and fingers) made me laugh so I’d relax. Or you had a different way to view what was going on that I never thought about. You were a very wise man my co-worker, friend and brother.
I can’t imagine a world with you not in it. You will be so missed by so many. I hope you knew in your heart how much you were loved, by so many people whose lives you touched. I will miss you my friend and my brother. I know you will be watching and guiding from above.
Barb and family, I don’t have the words to express my sincere heartache for you and this time of grief.

Barb - I'm so sorry; it is with a heavy heart that I write this. David was not only a co-worker to me, he was family. Our crew shared an awful lot of goods times as we!l as the bad over the years. One thing that we could always count on though was that David was always willing to do do anything to help us girls. When David came to the Town of Milton, he was the beginning of change in our circle of four and change wasn't always easy for us to accept back then. But it wasn't long before he showed us that inside those cowboy boots stood a man with a heart of gold. He became part of the team and it felt like he had been there with us forever.
All my Love - Paulette
RIP - my friend.
