Hello. I am very sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I worked with Dale at IBM from 1987 to 1994. I think the one thing that I remember the most about Dale was his good nature and positive outlook. He never had a harsh word to say about anyone, even when such a person really was deserving of harsh words! Dale and some of the guys that I worked with during those years would always carry on about football and who's team was better, etc. The bunch of them would get loud and carry on, picking on each other. Dale loved it! Since I am not a pro sports follower, it was entertaining to see them get loud and such and Dale would be right in the thick of it. It was all in good fun and helped to pass a long work day. A guy worked with us named Rick Lafond and he always called Dale "Dad". Not sure why, but Dale and him made fun of it. I can only hope that if I am confronted with such a life changing event that Dale had to deal with, that I can have his positive outlook.
