Obituary of David L. Perkins
St. Albans City – Dr. David L. Perkins, 76, died peacefully early Thursday morning December 3, 2015 at the Arbors in Shelburne.
David was born in Middlebury, VT on April 21, 1939, the son of Llewellyn and Ruth (Humphrey) Perkins.
Dr. Perkins received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University and his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Vermont.
He worked for the Public Health Department in Barrow, Alaska, returned to Vermont to work at Fletcher Allen Health Care, then worked several years for the Indian Health Service in Gallup New Mexico. He returned to Vermont where he worked for NWMC in St. Albans and North Country in Newport briefly before retiring.
David is survived by his son Andy Perkins and wife Debby of Fairfax and their children Malrissa and Brittany; and by his daughter Julie Eddy and husband Mike of Richmond, Indiana and their child Raynor; and by his sister Marion Harris of MA.
David is also survived by his former wife, and mother of his children, Dorothy Perkins, of St. Albans and former wife Carole Perkins of So. Burlington.
He was predeceased by his infant son David Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11 am. in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton.
