Dear Pam,
I was so sorry to read this news this morning. I came to see you a couple of times but you weren’t there before you left the hospital that time. Tom could not have had a more loving partner and best friend. He will always be a part of you and your memories will be cherished.
I am also sorry to say that we will be away on 7/29 but I will be thinking of you!
Love,
Margaret P

So sorry to hear about the passing of Tom. We worked quite a few years together in Hot Process at IBM. He was quite a character and very knowledgeable about the tool set we serviced. I won't be able to make the Sunday get together as I'm at work this weekend, but I wanted to pass along my condolences.
Sincerely,
Wayne Pierce

Tom was my first supervisor at the VSC and was a solid, helpful, and approachable guide to my beginnings. He was always willing to help and made my experience on second shift much easier to adapt to. He knew what the “big” and “small” problems were, so for a brand new employee, it was reassuring to have this guidance - as he would explain things, but never let you feel lost or abandoned if you needed extra help understanding something. As I moved along to another division, Tom would still see me around the office and stop to check in and see how I was doing. He genuinely cared about others, and will be greatly missed. My condolences to his friends and family, may he Rest In Peace.

Tom was one of my first supervisors on second shift at the Vermont Service Center. His leadership, guidance, and encouragement set the foundation for my government service and led to my becoming a supervisor myself. Even though Tom was a Packers fan (Pats fan here), I still enjoyed our nightly talks (on break of course) about how our teams' football seasons were going. Working second shift could be difficult at times, but Tom always remained an upbeat, down-to-earth motivator. I enjoyed being a part of his team. The time and attention he gave to his employees was definitely appreciated. I am sorry to hear of his passing and send my deepest condolences.
Take care,
Eddie Schroth

So very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I will remember most vividly my time with Tom when we served on second shift together at the VSC. The shift was from 4:30-1am and we were typically exhausted at the end of a work week, but still managed to have fun and serve the needs of our staff well. Tom was a supervisor on my team at that time and consistently demonstrated true compassion for his officers, always making sure that they had everything they needed to perform well in their jobs. He was a highly collaborative colleague and I enjoyed our conversations about gardening and later in the year, commiserating about the cold winter months in VT. Tom truly demonstrated a courageous fight against his disease until the very end, as he continued to serve as an outstanding officer in our workplace right up until the last few weeks. He will certainly be missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to his spouse and family as they continue to grieve this loss.
Sincerely,
Mary Lynch

We are so very sorry for your loss. My husband, Tony, and I both worked with Tom for many years at the VSC. He and Tony both enjoyed talking about golf and for those who know Tony, getting him to talk to someone is a feat -- but Tom, somehow, got him to talk about something they both enjoyed. Tom had one of the best sarcastic senses of humor around and that will be missed. Many condolences to his family and friends.
Sincerely,
April Dechert
