Obituary of Herbon V. Cobb
Georgia – Herbon V. Cobb, 93, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
Herb was born on August 23, 1922 in Burlington, the son of the late Edward and Laura (Vasseur) Cobb.
He proudly served in the US Army during WWII.
He was married to Marjorie Vest for over 61 years. Together they had raised five children. Herb and Marge loved to travel across country to visit friends and family, and enjoyed stopping in Las Vegas, for a little gambling.
Herb was employed by Vermont Structural Steel for many years. In 1974, Herb and Marge opened the Cobbweb in Georgia, where they had many happy times with family and friends, while enjoying square dancing, bingo and weddings.
He is survived by his children Joseph Cobb and his wife JoAnne of St. Albans, Lynda Blair and her husband Leo “Frank” of Milton, Kara Tanner and her husband John of Winter Haven, FL., Steven Cobb and his wife Patricia of Georgia, and Ty Cobb, who Herb lived with, in Georgia. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his sisters-in-law Natalie Ashton of Merritt Island, FL., Joan and Daniel Zimmerman of Everett, PA., and Carol and Ray Gurule of Sun Lakes, AZ and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Herb was predeceased by his loving wife Marjorie in 2013, and his brothers and sisters Edward Cobb, Irving Cobb, Ruth Wood, Patricia Haskins and Elsie Goodrich.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 5-7pm in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton.
A Vigil Service will be held at 5 pm in the funeral home by Fr. Henry Furman
Burial will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 am in St. Ann’s Cemetery on Middle Road in Milton.
