Dick was a great mentor and friend to me during our careers in the Vermont Air National Guard. His mentorship led me in a path that changed my life forever. I represent one of the many dozens of individuals who Chief Hazen inspired and assisted throughout their careers. He was a great man with an awesome sense of humor and compassion. He was amazing about keeping in touch after his retirement. I will miss his calls. My thoughts and prayers for Janet, his daughters and his beloved grandchildren. Thank you for sharing Dick's life with us. He will be greatly missed....but his inspiration will be with me forever. Rest in Peace.
