Obituary of Richard George Gillilan
Colchester - Richard George Gillilan, 50, of Hickory Lane passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in Colchester.
Rick was born September 25, 1967 in Burlington, the son of the late George Roy and Elaine Blanche Jourdan Gillilan. Following his graduation from People’s Academy High School in Morrisville, VT he went on to study and graduate from Technical School in Connecticut in 1987 specializing in transmission repair. He went on to work at Shearer Chevrolet as a Transmission Specialist for 20 years until his retirement due to health issues. An avid reader, Rick enjoyed NASCAR, RC racing and watching other sports. He spent many years working behind the scenes on local race cars for David Whitcomb and Scott Payea.
He is survived by his sister, JuliAnn Morin and her husband, Ricky of Eden; his aunts, Lynn Gillilan of Milton and Diane Butterfield Penney of Bakersfield; cousins Scott Gillilan and Jim and Dan Boucher; his nieces and nephews, Melissa Morin, Ryan Morin and partner, Shanda Dailey, Benjamin Morin and Molly Morin; his great niece, LeighAnn and great nephew, Marshal as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins and many friends and coworkers.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 1 PM in the Binghamville Cemetery in Fletcher. There will be no visiting hours.
