Obituary of Frances L. Lamothe

Georgia – Frances “Franny” Lamothe, 83, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester. Frances was born on August 15, 1932 at home in Georgia, the daughter of Claude and Flora (Sweetser) McKenny. She married Andrew Lamothe on August 15, 1950 in St. Albans. Andrew predeceased her in 2008. Franny worked in the Dietary Department at the Mary Fletcher Hospital for many years. She took great pride in her work, and delighted in supporting the staff at the hospital that took such good care of their patients. Franny will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and a spirit that made everyone she met love her. A testament of that spirit is that, in her 83 years of life, she did not have a single enemy. Her family and many friends were blessed to have her light shine on them for so many years. Franny is survived by her children Allen Lamothe and his wife Sandra of Colorado, Patrick Lamothe and his wife Katie of East Fairfield, Barb Lascelles of Colchester, Doug Lamothe and Alice Dunn of Grand Isle, Debra Lamothe of Williston, Sandy Wellman and her husband Charlie of New Hampshire, and Linda Lane and her husband John of Charlotte. She has 13 grandchildren and too many great-grandchildren to count, with more popping up each day. We would like to thank the staff at the Green Mountain Nursing Home who took such wonderful care of her and made her last years There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
