Dear Lisa, Joe, Jim and families,
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
They’ll live on in the heart.
From Earth To Heaven, A Bridge Of Memories!
Much love to you all,
Bobbie, Gary and Dakota

My condolences to the family of this wonderful man. I worked at the Ethan Allen Club in college 25 years ago and Joe was truly one of the nice guys! He stands out in my memory as someone that everyone loved. Years later as I was raising my family I would see him every so often in the grocery store or about town and I have to say I have never seen this man without a huge smile on his face. He would always remember me and take the time to catch up. The world was a better place for having Joe.

I write to add my sympathy to Pam and all of Joe's family. Joe was one of my classmates in the public schools of Burlington from the time that his family moved to Burlington. Both Joe and his brother Paul were acquaintances I enjoyed knowing. For many years one of Joe's activities was service on the reunion committee of the BHS Class of 1952, a committee that I also served on. Joe and Paul will long be remembered by al who were acquainted with them. They rest in peace.
Sincerely, Joseph Frank

Dear Pam and family,
I'm so sorry to read about Joe's passing. He had an inner light that radiated and was one of the sweetest gentlemen I ever had the privilege to know. I could tell how he was feeling by how bright his blue eyes were twinkling on any given day. I loved our visits and always looked forward to a hug at the end. He used to ask me, in light of all the medical issues he'd had over the years, why he was "still around." I told him because he was so loved that none of us were ready to let him go. And because he never did anything by the book! I'm still not ready to lose him from this world, but I know his tired body deserved a rest.
Thank you for letting me be a part of Joe's care team and sharing a bit of your wonderful husband and father with me. One of my favorite memories of Joe was his 80th birthday party. He was just glowing having all his family and friends around. He was a remarkable human being and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Sincerely,
Nellie Wirsing

So sorry to hear of your loss, Pam. I feel privileged to have spent time at your house in September, 2015, before the 50-year reunion of our Milton High School graduating class.
It was good to see you again and to meet Joe. His sense of humor was delightful, as is yours. The obituary is a fine tribute and very informative for those of us who did not know your husband well. I trust your family and the beautiful dogs will be a source of comfort to you. Juliette (Gravelle) Philip
