Obituary of Edwin Eric Cassidy

Milton - Edwin E. Cassidy, 63 of Milton passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 in the VT Respite House in Colchester.

Ed was born January 5, 1955 in Burlington, the son of the late Arthur and Katherine Foster Cassidy.  He had work in the Masking Department for Global Foundry in Essex for a number of years.

Considered her “Red Neck Guy” by his companion of 28 years Linda who also thought of him as her “Rock” and the Love of her life. He will be dearly missed.

To my dear sweet special Eddie, I got to meet a lot of your friends from work and your friends from camp.  Thank you Christina and Jessie for making Ed’s camping special the last two years.  I would like to also thank each and every one of you for all of the stories that you shared with me about Eddie.

A few memories of Ed that Linda wishes to share regarding the love between the two of them are as follows: You made my life bearable so thank you for taking such good care of me. I’ll love you always my “Big Boy” until we meet again and take great satisfaction in knowing that because of who you were, you are with your Mom and friends in Heaven. For all the days you laid on the couch in great pain and suffering, I feel confident that you now are hunting and fishing totally pain free.  Someday Buggie, Sweetie and I will see you again. I will love you forever!

Special thanks goes to Neil, Denise and Debbie for being there for both of us.

Ed is survived by his 28 year companion and best friend Linda North of Milton; his sister, Rebecca Bushey of FL; his stepbrother, Howard Kidd of CT; his stepsister, Kathy St. Pierre of MA and his niece, Christina and her partner, Jesse of MA.  He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick.

Memorial contributions may be made in Eddy’s name to the VT Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Highway, Colchester, VT 05446

As per Ed’s wishes, there will be no funeral services, however when you’re thinking of him remember Scotty McCreery’s song “Five more minutes”.
