Obituary of Agnes Mary Snide

Essex Junction / Fletcher - Agnes M. Snide, 93, a longtime resident of Essex Junction and formerly of Fletcher, died Saturday Jan. 6, 2018 in Our Lady of Providence in Winooski after a long illness.

Born in Fletcher, VT Jan. 5, 1925, she was the daughter of late Edward F. and Clara E. (Sloan) Doon.

She married William J. Snide on Dec. 20, 1958, in St. Patrick Church in Fairfield Center. A proud wife, Mr. Snide was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

Agnes Snide graduated from BFA-Fairfax in 1943.  She was an active member of Saint Lawrence Church and Holy Family Church in Essex.

She leaves her niece Patti Aube and husband Mark Aube, nephew Michael Rivers and wife Holly Rivers, Grandnieces Elizabeth Kozachek, Amanda Aube, Lindsay Rivers Wainer and Michaela Rivers. Agnes leaves behind many loving friends including Jane Hennessey and Cathy Thomas. She is predeceased by her husband William Snide and her brothers Howard and Alton Doon, her sister Francese Rivers and by her friend Flora Chicoine.

The family thanks Our Lady Of Providence for the gentle care and support provided for Agnes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father William Giroux, Wednesday Jan. 10, 2018 at 11 a.m., in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fairfield Center.  Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in the spring.
