Obituary of Dalton Loyd Villeneuve
Milton,
Dalton Loyd Villeneuve, 67, of Milton, Vermont passed away at home on February 22, 2017. He spent the past two years fighting pancreatic cancer and drawing on the love and support from those closest to him. Dalton was an accomplished woodworker, handyman, gardener, and an avid football fan. He loved his children and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Talking about them was one of his favorite things to do, until recently, when they were upstaged by the 2017 Super Bowl Victory by his New England Patriots.
Dalton was born in Cambridge, VT on March 13th of 1949 to Clara May (Cross) and Wilfred Villeneuve. He grew up in Milton and graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1967. He was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and served his country honorably, a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an Electrician, a Master Plumber, and an IBM retiree. He was most recently employed with FairPoint Communications.
He is survived by his children Michael, Jillian, and Griffin Villeneuve, his brother Eugene and wife Mary Villeneuve, his sister Phyllis Bushey, his nephews Mark and Craig Bushey, Gary and wife Jennifer Villeneuve, Kenneth Villeneuve and partner Aubrey Choquette, and niece Karen Villeneuve.
Dalton is proceeded in death by his parents, his nephew Dennis Villeneuve, and his brother-in-law George Bushey.
His children would like to thank Dalton’s dearest friend, Susan Oliver, for the countless hours of comfort and conversation she provided over the years and especially throughout his illness. You meant the world to him – we can’t thank you enough.
The Milton community will benefit through a sizeable donation to the MFCC Food Shelf. Please consider making a donation in his name to your local food shelf as well – he would have liked that. A celebration of Dalton’s life will be held in the spring.
