Obituary of Mary Katherine Lawrence-Mayville

Milton – Mary Katherine Lawrence – Mayville, 69, died peacefully on Monday February 20, 2017 at her home, with her loving family by her side, following a battle with cancer. Mary was born on March 26, 1947 in Burlington, VT the daughter of Jerome and Katherine (Bessette) Lawrence. She was married to Greg Mayville and had been together for over 30 years. Mary enjoyed working for many years at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington, where she loved caring for the patients. She also worked for IBM and Aubuchon Hardware before finally retiring. She and Greg always looked forward to camping in Westport, NY at the Barber Homestead Campground with many cousins and friends. They also enjoyed many winters at the “Beach Place” in Cocoa Beach, FL . Mary also loved to cook, bake, can and entertain family. In addition to Greg, Mary is survived by her children John George and his wife Melody of Milton, Jason George and his wife Ruth of St. Albans, and Jennie Lund and her husband Troy of Alburgh. By her grandchildren Lina Biggs and husband Ryan, Chris Nazer, Kayla Rivers and husband J.C., Simon, Lucy, Sara and Ben and by her great grandchildren Owen and Aden. Mary is also survived by her brothers and sister Pat Lawrence and wife Sandy of FL, Geri Lawrence of Burlington, and David Lawrence and his wife Christina Rodriguez of CA, her mother-in-law Elaine Mayville of Milton as well and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495 A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from Noon to 3pm in the Minor Funeral & Cremation Center in Milton.
