Obituary of Richard G. Lamotte
Richard G. Lamotte, 77, died Monday March 5, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, following a long illness.
Richard was born on August 30, 1940 in Burlington, the son of Alfred Lamotte Sr. and Florence (Dumas) Lamotte.
He had served in the U.S. Army and worked for many years for the State of Vermont as a mechanic in the Maintenance Division.
He was married to Sandra Jean Martinson on April 1, 1972.
Richard loved to be outdoors, fishing and hunting and was a “Jack of all Trades”. He enjoyed fishing in the LCI Derby every year. He also loved playing card and was very family oriented. He also loved playing with his grandkids.
In addition to his loving wife Sandra, he is survived by his “first” family, Dickie Lamotte and his wife Nicole, Laurie McLane and Debbie Lamotte Miles and by his children with Sandy, Tracy Lamotte and wife Louise, Jerry, Tamara, and Ricky Hayden and Timothy Hayden and his wife Brenda, by several grandchildren greatly loved, including Desiree Tardy, and Jacob and Shayne Lawyer and by several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters, especially Nancy Stanley, who helped Sandra with Richard’s care.
As per Richard’s wishes, there will not be any visiting hours or funeral service at this time, however a celebration will be announces at a later date in the spring.
